Certified Pharmacy Technician -I (Sterile Compounding)


Our client, Bioscrip has asked us to identify a Certified Pharmacy Technician with Sterile Compounding experience.

Due to our exceptional growth and success, we are seeking a Pharmacy Technician I - General to join our team.


SUMMARY
Responsible for sterile compounding under the supervision of a Pharmacist to include cleanroom maintenance, completing documentation, and drug compounding. Coordination and processing of patient medication orders, to include order intake within regulatory boundaries, patient services coordination, and other Pharmacy Technician duties as defined by policy and regulation while under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Basic understanding of USP Chapter 797, ASHP guidelines for cytotoxic drug compounding and Company policies concerning sterile compounding.
Gathers and pre-checks compounding material prior to its entry into the cleanroom.
Compounds sterile products.
Checks final product for particulate matter and container integrity.
Checks ancillary supplies.
Pick/packs supplies.
Monitors cleaning and quality control logs for completeness.
Generates delivery and equipment pick-up tickets.
Communicates as necessary with patients to identify general health status, medication compliance, drug and supply inventory, and provide overall coordination of care and service (custom assessment in CPR+).
Gathers, organizes, documents (in CPR
and electronic medical record), and reports clinical data for review and action by the patient care team (Pharmacist, Nurse, prescriber) to include:
lab data;
results of patient contact documented on the custom assessment;
hospitalizations;
follow-up appointments.
Generates pharmacy and clinical reports from CPR
as directed.
Coordinates with warehouse and pharmacy team to ensure all medications needed are available for patient care.
Completes all necessary paperwork, forms, and records according to policy.
Participates in the pharmacy on-call rotation.
Maintains solid knowledge of, and compliance with, Company policies and procedures.

Work is normally performed in a clean room located in an interior work environment.
Chemotherapy is compounded on site; compliance with all safety procedures required.
May occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.


EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma; Registered Pharmacy Technician preferred; one to two (1-2) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Experiential requirements may be waived in lieu of evidence of progressive growth in and attainment of the skills necessary to perform the required duties.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as pharmaceutical calculations, discounts, percentages, and volume. Ability to read and interpret compounding, inventory and delivery documents.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of abstract variables.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
