The Aeronautics Systems (AS) sector has an opening for a Staff Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Multi-Domain Command and Control (MDC2) family of programs.
This position will be located onsite in Melbourne, FL.
Responsibilities will include working with internal business partners to gather requirements, develop prototype models, and architect solutions in support of various System of Systems activities in a fast-paced Science and Technology Mission Engineering-focused environment.

While working in a team environment, the ideal candidate will have the ability to take ownership of challenging problems, drive them to a solution, and provide leadership for implementing the solution.
It is critical that you understand the various aspects of the entire development life cycle of complex DoD aircraft.
As a Systems Engineer focused on the operational mission space, you will support specific areas in the full life cycle of engineering development, to include requirements development, modeling and simulation, verification and validation (V&V) activities, etc.
You will analyze both simulated and live flight data results and metrics to assess overall mission effectiveness associated with current and future operational capability improvements.
You will also apply technical expertise in solving complex integration challenges.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are required.

Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 14 years of engineering experience OR a Master of Science Degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of engineering experience OR PhD in a STEM discipline and 9 years of engineering experienceMust have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Agile methodology experience and familiarity with the Atlassian tool suiteExperience with Windows and Linux Operating SystemsStrong programming skills in Matlab and/or Python and system modeling experience in tracking and prediction algorithmsExperience with data analysis including Verification and Validation (V&V) activities associated with DoD Modeling and Simulation systemsExperience with requirements management using IBM s DOORS Engineering Requirements Management softwarePreferred

Salary Range:
$142,500.
00 - $213,700.
00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
