Fall 2023 Electrical Engineering Co-Op

About our Electrical Engineering Co-Ops Open to students passionate about Electrical Engineering, ready to learn practical skills, and gain real world experience.
Come learn the design of human interfaces for aviation multifunction display products under the guidance of senior engineers.
We are looking for candidates with a strong foundation in Electrical Engineering design, and a desire to build on that foundation with practical applications in the context of certified avionics equipment.
Avidyne's Hardware Engineering co-ops are paid, full-time temporary positions lasting 16 - 18 weeks with preference given to candidates local to central Florida.
Typical Electrical Engineering responsibilities include:
Designing and testing digital processor circuits to interface with pressure sensors, magnetometers, gyros, accelerometers and other sensors Planning of system architectures including functional partitions and interfaces Technology selections and documentation of detailed device specifications Integration of mechanical and electrical components into a PCB Writing requirements, specifications, and verification tests of system hardware Designing, fabricating, and testing CPU, GPU, Data-bus, memory, and FPGA interfaces Resolving manufacturing and field problems Component engineering, lifecycle support, and continuous product improvement Collaborating, as part of a team, to support the technical efforts of other engineers, designers, technicians, and departments Applying ethical judgment in developing safety of flight/life critical equipment.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal and written communication (including technical documentation) Self-motivated and enthusiastic about solving problems Adaptable and flexible with moving deadlines, requirements, and changing focus Strong knowledge through coursework of microprocessors and typical interfaces (e.
g.
, I2C, SPI) Knowledge or demonstrated skills related to lab equipment such as power supplies, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers.
Education &
Experience:
At least 2nd year completed undergraduate in Electrical Engineering with a cumulative GPA of 3.
2 or above.
Other Desirable
Experience:
Pilot's license, flight training, or familiarity with general aviation Avionics/aviation background or enthusiast Previous co-op or internships in related field Knowledge or project experience with Altium, Cadence, or other schematic capture software Knowledge or project experience with LabView, Python, or other graphical programming languages Knowledge or project experience with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) Knowledge or project experience with SPICE (analog electronic circuit simulation).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
